The Gender Hub commenced in the fourth quarter of 2023 and will run through to January 2028 (in line with the PNGWL program). The primary purpose of the Gender Hub is to maximise Australian investments in PNG to progress gender equality outcomes including helping to achieve synergies across programs and investments. The Gender Hub provides Australian High Commission (AHC) in PNG, Department for Community Development and Religion (DfCDR) and other selected PNGWL program partners access to external technical advice on gender equality and organizational development expertise in PNG. Abt Associates (Abt) established a Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) of approved individuals who could be engaged as needed. As part of the commitment to localisation, the Gender Hub will prioritise technical expertise and advisory support from Papua New Guineans.
