About the role
The Health Equity Lead position is funded under the Victorian Women’s Health Program (VWHP). The VWHP contributes to improving the health and wellbeing of Victorian women and achieving measurable population health outcomes through prevention and health promotion action.

Contribute to the delivery of WDV’s VWHP across three priority areas:
- sexual and reproductive health
- gender equity in health and wellbeing
- chronic disease prevention.
The position will work within established program objectives, policies, procedures and funding requirements to support women’s health services, health promotion workforces, and partner organisations to:
- strengthen disability-inclusive approaches to health promotion and service delivery.
- better recognise and respond to the rights, needs and perspectives of women and gender diverse people with disabilities.
- Advance and promote WDV’s expertise in disability inclusion, lived experience leadership, workforce development, and systems advocacy.

About you
You will bring:
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects or significant activities from planning through to implementation and evaluation
- Ability to manage competing priorities, timelines and deliverables with limited day-to-day supervision and well-developed ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Specialist knowledge and relevant qualifications
- Qualifications in social sciences, health promotion or a related discipline
- Knowledge of gender equity and disability rights and inclusion and their application within health promotion, healthcare or community services
- Understanding of sexual and reproductive health, gender equity, health promotion and/or chronic disease prevention
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to develop clear, accessible and audience-appropriate resources and communications
- Ability to present information and facilitate meetings, workshops and other group activities
- Ability to collect, interpret and communicate project evaluation activities
- Ability to apply principles of accessibility, inclusion, co-design and lived experience expertise in day-to-day work
- Computer literacy skills
- Lived experience of disability is highly desirable

- Consent to check and release National Police Record with a satisfactory outcome
- Current Working with Children Check
- Australian Citizenship, permanent resident status or applicable work visa
