The Youth Ambassador for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender Equality and Bodily Autonomy (YASRHR) programme is a partnership between CHOICE for Youth & Sexuality and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The program gives young people a voice and a platform to advocate for their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and for meaningful and inclusive youth participation (MIYP) in all areas of decision-making. As YASRHR, you will use your role to promote SRHR, gender equality, and bodily autonomy for young people worldwide. You will build bridges between young people around the world and the MFA, giving young people access to policy-making and enabling the MFA to draw on the ideas, knowledge, and networks of young people to make sure the MFA's work is more aligned with young people's realities.
 
As YASRHR, you will: 
- Actively engage with a priority theme within the field of SRHR and gender equality, achieving concrete results;

- Gather input from young people from diverse backgrounds on SRHR and gender equality by organizing focus groups to fulfill your role as a bridge between young people and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

- Make an active contribution to Dutch policy on Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation regarding SRHR, gender equality, and meaningful and inclusive youth participation by attending meetings and providing input on policy, programming, and speeches within the MFA;

- Participate in (international) events and conferences, such as those organized by the United Nations (UN), and share young people’s input on SRHR and gender equality there; 
- Stay informed about national and international developments regarding SRHR, gender equality, and MIYP, with a special focus on your focus theme;

- Build and maintain a network of national and international NGOs, activists, and experts in the fields of SRHR, gender equality, and MIYP;

- Maintain contact with relevant policymakers at the MFA and advise them on meaningful and inclusive youth participation, SRHR, and gender equality; 
- Raise awareness about SRHR, gender equality, and MIYP on social media, at events, and in interviews and opinion pieces.

Profile
You are between 18 and 27 years old, available until the end of December 2027 for an average of 16 hours per week. You must live in the Netherlands and have a Dutch passport.

Required skills and competencies
• Passionate about SRHR, gender equality, and freedom of choice
• Interested in national and international politics and the work of the UN
• You can reflect on policy and your own actions
• You can collaborate with people from different (cultural) backgrounds
• Good and clear presenter and communicator
• You enjoy networking and meeting new people
• You speak and write English fluently

Required knowledge and experience 
• Basic knowledge of SRHR, gender equality, or freedom of choice and/or youth participation. 
• Experience or interest in working with young people from different backgrounds and 
perspectives. 

A passion for SRHR and gender equality is more important than a specific education or degree!
