We are seeking a Director, Feminist Grantmaking to join the Community Initiatives team. This position reports to the Vice President, Community Initiatives.
The Director, Feminist Grantmaking is responsible for leading the implementation of the Canadian Women’s Foundation’s grantmaking strategy to advance gender justice in Canada. They will oversee the execution of feminist grantmaking practices, ensuring that funding is distributed equitably, effectively, and in alignment with the Foundation’s strategic priorities, theory of change, and impact measurement framework.
Working closely with a core team of Grant Managers, the Director will develop and refine systems for grant applications, funding allocation, reporting, and evaluative data collection. They will also play a key role in tracking and reporting on equity benchmarks and other funding key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.

Qualifications and Experience
Education
· University graduate in a related field (social sciences/humanities) OR equivalent combination of training, expertise, and lived experience.
Experience, Skills & Abilities
· At least 7-10 years of experience in grantmaking, philanthropy, or nonprofit funding roles, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity.
· Strong knowledge of feminist philanthropy, gender justice funding, and equity-focused grantmaking models.
· Experience overseeing large-scale funding programs, including multi-year grants and government-funded initiatives.
· Experience working within a fundraising foundation is an asset.
· Proven experience developing and implementing funding policies, systems, and evaluation frameworks.
· Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to intersectional feminism and its application in community programming.
· Communication & External Engagement: Strong communicator with experience representing organizations publicly and collaborating with grantees, donors, and sector partners. Ability to work bilingually in English and French is preferred.
