Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of FAO representative, and direct supervision from CTA , the Agricultural and Gender Specialist-will implement the required tasks, in close collaboration with the Agronomist and Climate Adaptation Specialist and will coordinate with the eight selected CWWA, the contracted service provider for selecting and training the 200 CWW and with the Ministry of Agriculture extension staff for FFS implementation. 

Technical Focus
Agriculture, agriculture extension, social and gender inclusion in agricultural, technology transfer, climate change adaptation, rural development, and water management.

Tasks and responsibilities

The incumbent will be mainly involved in implementing tasks under Output 2.1.3 “Establishing a cadre of 400 climate wise women change agents for climate adaptation” and Output 2.1.1:  By year seven, 6,000 women and men farmers will be trained in climate resilient production practices through Farmer Field Schools (4,050) and field days (6,000). The position will be based in the Ministry of Environment of Jordan and will support the project PMU- with field missions. The consultancy will involve the following tasks:
Task 1: Supervise CCA and gender related activities under BRCCJ project including CWW and FFS
Task 2: Support the selection of 200 Climate Wise Women in collaboration with the committee members based on the agreed selection criteria
Task 3: Support holding the trainings for the 200 CWW 
Task 4: Support implementing the FFS activities 
Task 5: Report on progress on a monthly basis:

Minimum Requirements    
•    Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy or related field. 
•    At least one year of proven working experience at the field level, following up and provide guidance regarding agriculture, gender, climate change and water use efficiency related activities.
•    Working knowledge (level C) in English and in Arabic.
•    National of Jordan or holding residency permit
