Gender-based violence (GBV)
Background
Chayn is an award-winning, global charity that leverages open-source technology to help every survivor heal and thrive. Chayn started in 2013 to provide survivors of abuse with accurate, diverse and accessible information. Over the past 7 years, 360,000 people have viewed our award-winning work online, generating 1.2 million page views. Our digital services, Little Window (a chatbot that helps survivors of gender-based violence search for information) and Soul Medicine (a micro-course platform) are examples of our innovative approach. Last year, we launched YSM - Your Story Matters - a groundbreaking web app providing safe and timely support for survivors of sexual assault. It is a transformative solution to the complex social challenge of providing a stigma-free environment for survivors to access support they can trust to begin their journey of healing; instead of going to multiple information sources to find relevant local support, YSM brings it all under one roof.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for trauma-informed therapists who are excited about the work we do at Chayn and wants to partner with us!
As you will be working with survivors around the world, global indemnity insurance is required for this partnership. This includes insurance to work with therapy clients in North America.
Because this insurance and accreditation with a regulatory body is a prerequisite for this work, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire before moving forward with the process. This questionnaire will ask for:
- Your qualification
- Proof of your accreditation with a regulatory body
- Details of your clinical supervisor
- Proof of your insurance cover
- Details of three references
We require these details in order to carry out due diligence checks and we will only contact references if we move forward with our partnership.
Given the nature of our courses and our audience, we encourage applications from mental health professionals who have either grown up in the Global South (or Majority World) and/or have completed professional training there.
