A. Programme work
  • Ensure proactive, comprehensive, and effective support to the GRO team by coordinating the preparation and providing input to various documents such as presentations, speeches, statements and talking points by GRO colleagues and relevant UNFPA business units ensuring high quality and relevance to subject and themes highlighting sensitive and urgent matters, referring issues to relevant UNFPA colleagues for action, and following up on decisions;
  • Liaise with Permanent Missions and identify and coordinate the strengthening of new and ongoing partnerships with Geneva-based civil society and intergovernmental organizations relevant to UNFPA mandate;
  • Coordinate UNFPA’s engagement with the Universal Periodic Review in close consultation with UNFPA Country Offices;
  • Design and roll-out learning packages on UNFPA’s strategic engagement with human rights mechanisms in close cooperation with the Gender, Human Rights and Inclusion Branch and Regional gender and human rights advisors.
  • Keep abreast of developments in various areas of the UNFPA mandate relating to the functions of the division.

B. Administrative work
  • Providing logistical and administrative support for arrangements of events, senior management visits and meetings organized by the Geneva Representation Office. 
  • Develop, maintain and update all administrative files of the Office and make arrangements for travels.
  • Manage the electronic filing system and update contact lists of relevant focal points at the permanent missions in Geneva.
  • Lead on the budget proposals for the functioning of the office and programme activities and keep track of budget execution and create vendor profiles.
  • Ensure timely completion of progress and final reports of the office (SIS, etc.).

C. Communication
  • Oversee internal communication and communication with relevant HQ branches.
  • Maintain GRO’s presence on social media platforms (e.g twitter/youtube). 
  • Organize webinars to publicize GRO’s work and outcomes within UNFPA.

D. Carry out any other duties as may be required by the Chief of the Office.

Qualifications and Experience: 
  • Masters degree in law, international relations, development studies, public health or related discipline.
  • Two years of relevant experience in gender, human rights, or development.
  • Substantive knowledge of the ICPD agenda including sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender equality.
  • Professional written and spoken presentation skills, including for the development of reports, presentations, and the ability to synthesize complex human rights and health ICPD related documents is required.
  • Experience in communications, including social media and Adobe products (Photoshop and InDesign), or Canva.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in written/spoken English and French is required.
