The Digital & Gender Expert will be located half-time at the D4D Hub Secretariat office in Brussels and half-time at Enabel. For the implementation of the D4WG (half-time) this person will work under the supervision of the D4WGs coordinator based in Burkina Faso. Within the D4D Hub Global Secretariat you will  work in close collaboration with the Global Coordinator (hired by GIZ), and under the supervision of the Africa branch coordinator (hired by Enabel) based in Brussels (half-time).  Also ensuring interactions with colleagues in charge of the other D4D Hub WGs and Advisory Groups.
For the D4WG project, your main responsibilities are:
 
  • Identify lessons learned and develop knowledge products on how to close the gender digital divide, in particular with regard to economic empowerment;
  • Organise trainings and online webinars on closing the digital gender divide, in particular with regard to economic empowerment and digital rights, for BE and EU development actors (in collaboration with the D4D Hub) ;
  • Coordinate and drive forward the implementation of the D4D Hub gender strategy  approach ;
  • Establish and coordinate the gender advisory board as part of the D4D Hub advisory groups;
  • Coordinate a study on closing the gender digital divide for economic empowerment ;
 
For the D4D Hub Global Secretariat, your main responsibilities are :
  • Ensure that D4GW activities are inclusive and contribute to reduce the gender digital divide in the D4D initiatives;
  • To support the implementation of Gender strategy recently adopted, within the D4D programmes; 
  • To work closely with Enabel's gender and D4D experts to improve the integration of gender and inclusion issues in the D4D environment; 
  • Follow up and animate strategic partnerships (EU, #Digitall charter and EQUALS in tech alliance); 
  • Participate in internal and external exchange groups led by Enabel on D4D Hub for gender and digital skills related topics (e.g. Digital Enablers, Digital Sessions, etc.); 

Your profile
 
  • Master’s degree in Gender, Development cooperation, International Relations, Politics, History, Sociology and/or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in gender and/or inclusion, human rights, support to women's entrepreneurship or any other closely related issue,..; 
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the field of digitalization, especially for women/young girls; 
  • A professional experience in the field of development cooperation is an asset;
  • Previous work experience with Belgian and/or EU funded projects. 
  • You are fluent in spoken and written French or Dutch. Considering the international environment in which you work, excellent knowledge of French and English is required.
