Gender-based violence (GBV)

MAIN TASKS
1. Project planning, implementation, and Coordination
- Responsible for overall GBV project planning, management, and coordination at the field level by developing plans, and procurement plans, initiating purchase requests and Cash Expenditure Forecasts (CEF) as well as monitoring project burn rates by donor rules and regulations.
- In consultation with the GBV Advisor, contribute to the development of high-quality proposals in collaboration with other NCA sectors at the field level
- Collaborate with GBV community outreach workers and community structures to engage with the community and community representatives to understand needs and gaps in Gender-based violence programming.
2. Staff Management and Administration
- In collaboration with the Area Coordinator, ensure timely submission of staff Performance Development Reviews (PDRs), compliance to PHSEA, safeguarding and the code of conduct and Do No Harm Principles. Integrating PHSEA and Child Safeguarding training in all GBV training at the field level.
- Provide ongoing support to staff and partners to ensure programming meets GBV best practices and guiding principles that prioritize the security of beneficiaries, staff and NCA assets.
3. Staff and Partner capacity building
- Assist in capacity assessment/skills gaps analysis, development and implementation of capacity building plans for partners and NCA staff and support in designing and rolling out capacity building activities and training plans on GBV and ensuring ongoing coaching and mentoring through close monitoring of partners and NCA GBV activities
- In Collaboration with the Area Coordinator and GBV Advisor, conduct regular review meetings for NCA GBV partners to assess progress, and gaps, develop and follow up implementation of actions at the field level
4. Monitoring and Reporting
- In collaboration with the MEAL team, support the collection of community-level data and contribute to quality program and project reporting consistent with the indicator targets for prioritized outputs and outcomes and ensure timely submission of reports by donor requirements and regulations
5. Coordination and Networking
- Lead in consultations with the community, community representatives and other stakeholders to understand needs and gaps in Gender-based violence programming and contribute towards program design and development at the field level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant university degree in Gender, Development Studies, Social sciences or any relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in GBV programming preferably with INGO.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Fluency in Somali and English.
- Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills.
- Experience in concept notes, proposal development and fundraising.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and to supervise staff
- Able to work independently, able to prioritize and be self-motivated.
